Our in-house crafted compost comes infused with a carefully balanced ecosystem of live critters, beneficial microbes, and Mycos (Mycorrhizal Fungi) all working together to enrich your soil and supercharge your composting process.
Soilmates aren’t just added at the end – they’re included throughout the composting process. Eggs, larvae, and the beneficial nutrients created by these critters are infused into every handful of soil.
12oz. - Suggested for our 3.5 gallon bucket size, great for pantry composts
32oz. - Suggested for our 5 gallon bucket size or large/multiple planting containers.
50oz. - Suggested for large setups or multiple containers.
Each batch is brimming with the life and nutrients your soil craves, including:
Springtails (Collembola): Tiny, soil-loving organisms that help break down organic material and prevent mold growth. Springtails are great for controlling mold and mildew, reducing soil odor, and breaking down decaying organic material that can lead to fungal buildup. They help maintain a balanced ecosystem by consuming fungi and algae, which can thrive in damp environments, while improving soil aeration and nutrient cycling.
Rove Beetles (Dalotia coriaria (Atheta)): Voracious pest hunters that keep unwanted critters in check while aiding decomposition. Rove beetles are exceptional for controlling fungus gnats, shore flies, thrips, root aphids, and other soil-dwelling pests. These natural predators feed on pest larvae and harmful invaders, protecting compost and soil from infestations while helping to keep odors under control by breaking down pest-attracting materials.
Red Wigglers (Eisenia fetida): Nature’s best composting worms, breaking down organic matter and producing nutrient-rich worm castings. Red wigglers are excellent for managing compost odor and breaking down food scraps and organic waste into nutrient-rich worm castings. By processing organic material quickly, they reduce the risk of attracting flies and gnats while enriching soil health and suppressing fungal growth to promote healthier plants and compost ecosystems.
Additionally, our compost may include soil mites (Hypoaspis miles) and other tiny workers, essential micro-helpers that break down tough materials and protect your ecosystem by preying on harmful pests.
